Tools Required:
Open end wrenches (1/4’’ and 13 mm)
Procedure:
To ensure that the column screw cap does not loosen, please make sure that the column is always srewed correctly and if in doubt, just tighten the screw cap again. An application error that typically happens is that the wrong spanner flat at the column is used when tightening the connection at the column inlet. Please make sure that an open-end wrench with 13 mm is used and fixes the column screw cap while tightening the fitting in the column inlet with a 1/14” open-end wrench. Do not use a second 1/14” open-end wrench and fix the column body. The same way when loosening the fitting at the column inlet.
If the column body is fixed instead, the precolumn screw cap will loosen and create a dead volume. This will give deteriorated results in the next measurement.
