This application note describes the use of the NanoScaler, KNAUER’s new Impingement Jets Mixing (IJM) benchtop system, to formulate LNPs of adequate size and polydispersity index (PdI) for various nucleic-acid payloads.
The authors performed measurements of Z-average size and polydispersity index for lipid nanoparticles, produced by IJM and microfluidic herringbone mixers to compare formulation reproducibility and efficiency. The comparison also includes transfection results.
