Advanced optical UV-Detection with spectral sensitivity for method development
Devices called DAD or PDA detectors can record 3D UV/VIS data over the whole analysis time. With a DAD detector the entire UV/VIS spectrum of analytes passing through the flow cell. DAD are the preferred detector choice in research laboratories for HPLC method development.
3D data means that full UV/VIS spectra are measured and these spectra are plotted over the whole time. This is useful for unknown analytes or target compounds with different UV characteristics. The resulting UV/VIS spectra plots enable peak identification and monitor co-elution. Additionally 2D chromatograms can be extracted from 3D-data at any wavelength.
Both AZURA® diode array detectors DAD 6.1L and DAD 2.1L provide high spectral resolution enabling optimized identification and sample characterization with data rates up to 100 Hz.
Versatile Multi Wavelength UV-Detection with simultaneous acquisition compound-specific wavelengths
Devices called Multi-wavelength detectors (MWD), like the DAD, use a grating to disperse the light onto a photodiode array after the light has passed through the flow cell. Therefore, absorption occurs simultaneously across up to eight compound-specific wavelengths. Target analytes are molecules carrying a chromophore with adsorption at different wavelengths.
The AZURA® MWD 2.1L is an 8 channel, very sensitive multiwavelength detector combining high performance with easy handling. Over a wavelength range from 190 to 700 nm, simultaneous detection of up to eight compound-specific wavelengths for optimum selectivity is provided at data rates up to 100 Hz. A wide range of easily exchangeable cartridge flow cells make this device the right choice for fast, standard analytical, semi-preparative and preparative separations with bio-inert or stainless steel wetted parts.
High sensitive UV-Detection for robust detection of trace level components
Devices called UVD are variable wavelength detectors using a rotating grating to disperse polychromatic light into the spectrum. The light of a single wavelength is then selected and passed through the exit slit.
